A RESIDENT RECORD(“JUUMIN-HYO”)

By July, 2012, foreign nationals will be subject to the new Residency Management System, similar to the basic system applied to Japanese citizens. There will be several changes, like a notification of change of address. InfoKanagawa will deliver information updates as soon as we know the details of the process.

〔Procedures for the Issuance of RESIDENT RECORD(“JUUMIN-HYO”)〕
(1) By the month of May, TEMPORARY RESIDENT RECORD(“KARI-JUUMIN-HYO”) will be issued and sent through mail to all foreign nationals.
As of May, TEMPORARY RESIDENT RECORD(“KARI-JUUMIN-HYO”) will be issued and sent through mails to the registered addresses of all foreign nationals. Please check mails and documents received from the towns, municipalities or cities that you reside by the month of May this year.
(2) Transfer to RESIDENT RECORD(“JUUMIN-HYO”).
TEMPORARY RESIDENT RECORD(“KARI-JUUMIN-HYO”) will be changed to RESIDENT RECORD(“JUUMIN-HYO”). If there’s no error in the document received, notification is unnecessary.

As the new law on the Residency Management System starts, February edition of Info Kanagawa will deliver information about the necessary procedures to be followed in the application for RESIDENCE CARD(“ZAIRYU CARD”).
